Fall Guys going free-to-play has apparently caused the entire gaming community to descend on the colorful platform battle royale which apparently is now known simply as Fall Guys. As expected, this wreaked havoc on the servers which were pushed way beyond their limits and had developer Mediatonic scrambling to fix matchmaking failures, disconnects, long queues, and other issues that popped up on day one.

Matchmaking took longer than expected to fix and Mediatonic was also forced to temporarily disable custom lobbies while they worked to fix a different issue. The servers seem to have stabilized as of this writing although the team warns of possible “teething issues” as a “bajillion” players all try to play at once.

Fall Guys has seen a significant spike in its Steam playerbase over the past two days, soaring from a 10,000 peak player average to over 59,000 players in the past 24 hours. This is despite the game being delisted from Steam as part of their exclusivity deal with Epic Games.
