While other video game companies are still struggling to recover from the post-pandemic crash that hit the industry, Pearl Abyss continues to show consistent performance over the past year as revealed in its Q1 2024 financial report.

The South Korean publisher wrapped up the first quarter of the year with roughly $62 million in revenue (85.4 billion KRW), a half percent drop compared to Q1 2023 and a 1.2% increase from Q4 2023. A large chunk of that revenue came from Black Desert Online which raked in $48.9 million last quarter which is still lower than its Q1 2023 sales but not by much. Black Desert Mobile, however, performed significantly than its PC counterpart.

EVE Online, on the other hand generated $13.1 million in revenue in Q1 2024 a slight drop from Q4 but better than Q1 2023.

During the conference call, Pearl Abyss talked up its plans to launch Black Desert in China and finally begin its marketing push for the much-awaited and long-delayed Crimson Desert spinoff at Gamescom this summer. The publisher also confirmed plans to release DokeV sometime after Crimson Desert hits the global market. Surprisingly, EVE Vanguard and Pearl Abyss’s upcoming blockchain game Project Awakening were both conspicuously missing from the quarterly earnings report and nor was it mentioned during the conference call.
