Final Fantasy XIV Posts Full Patch 4.1 Notes, We Highlight the Differences

Finally, after a long three months of waiting, Final Fantasy XIV is finally coming out with its next major content update - Patch 4.1! Earlier, we brushed upon some of the balance changes that will be coming with Patch 4.1, but we also had an incomplete set of patch notes. Now, the real deal is here, and we can check the differences to see what's new.

The two primary additions to the full Patch Notes are the inclusion of Resolved Issues and Known Issues that will be coming with Patch 4.1 - a fancy way of saying bug fixes. Additionally, we have updated information regarding some of the new items. For example - you can now buy Galmour Prisms for 200 Grand Company Seals each! Rejoice! Here are some of the following issues that have been fixed.

  • Fixed an issue where players could not receive the "Quicksand" Orchestrion Roll if they had used a Story Skip item
  • Quest "Child's Play" can now continue properly
  • The Clan Mark enemy "Frost Grenade"'s location is now fixed
  • Warrior's Upheaval stated it ignore the damage penalty inflicted by Defiance - effect unchanged, but line of text has been removed
  • Dark Knight's Blood Price was, at times, giving more mana when hit by certain attacks
  • Ninja's Dripping Blades II no longer affects Doton
  • Arcanist's "Bane" action no longer implies it affects Miasma II
  • Largesse was sometimes benefiting Plenary Indulgence - it shouldn't, and this has been fixed.
  • Scholar's "Excogitation" can now crit
  • Certain Astrologian actions were not properly increasing Limit Break Gauge under certain conditions
  • "An issue wherein having a certain Direct Hit value would increase the damage over time effect spread by the arcanist action Bane" - true to form, Square Enix doesn't specify the value
  • Players would occasionally improperly respawn in the Second Coil of Bahamut - Turn 4 when dying in the location where the Ragnarok appears (a massive pillar in the center of the arena that instantly killers players if they touch it)
  • Certain parts of character models would not appear properly when wearing the Blackbosom attire
  • Certain actions used by the enemy in Deltascape V4.0 Savage that were not functioning properly have been fixed
  • "Other various issues have also been addressed."

All in all, this is a pretty hefty set of patch notes and fixes. No one saw the Glamour Prism change coming, and the economy on all servers will be changed as a result, with a large source of player's income having now been lost. Check the full patch notes out here, and good luck to all of you who are working towards a house in Shirogane!

The Final Fantasy XIV servers go live at 3 AM Pacific Time / 6 AM Eastern Time.
