Funcom Drops PingPerfect As Its Official Conan Exiles Server Partner

It's no secret that PingPerfect hasn't been handling its official Conan Exiles server partner duties well. As one of the year's biggest launches so far, with over 7500 servers and more than 40,000 players at peak, it's evident that the company simply wasn't ready. At launch, the servers were laggy messes with various disconnect issues; the issues were so prevalent that Funcom actually dropped the official servers' player cap from 70 to 40 in an attempt to mitigate them.

We here at MMOs.com had our own difficulties with PingPerfect. It took more than 24 hours to get our server, after which we had several issues with it. Around the time that it was finally brought online, an official MMOs.com server run by GTXGaming was also brought online; the server that they set up was brought online nearly instantaneously and we've seen no issues other than some desync that seems to have been caused by an update. Ultimately, we discontinued the PingPerfect server.

It is now three days after the launch of Conan Exiles and it seems that Funcom has had enough, as well. In a statement made today, the company announced that it will be dropping PingPerfect as its official server partner.

The exact statement is as follows.

Unfortunately, due to the overwhelming demand for servers and our needs for administrating them, our official partner has been unable to deliver the level of quality and service we require. Because of this we have mutually agreed to end the partnership. We are in the process of finding new partners with the ideal hardware we can move the existing game databases to. However, due to the high demand for Conan Exiles servers, many hosting companies are simply out of the hardware that we need and as such this process might take a few days.

In the meantime, we thank you for your patience and encourage you to play on any of the thousands of unofficial servers that are out there. Many are home to thriving and very welcoming communities. We sincerely apologize to everyone who has played and made progress on the official servers, but we think it is better to deal with this problem now rather than later.

While Funcom will be moving the servers to new hardware, your progress on those servers will be moving to the new servers.

Due to the split, the 25% Lifetime Discount on PingPerfect products has been removed from the Barbarian Edition of Conan Exiles, but those that have already redeemed their discount will see it honored.
