Conan Exiles marks the beginning of the end of its Age of War saga as Age of War: Chapter 4 officially goes live on PC and console. Chapter 4 features a newly revamped Purge system and a new Mortal Kombat-inspired Fatalities that will allow players to deal flashy killing blows to stunned enemies.

The highlight of the update, however, is the new Sacred Hunt Event which challenges players to summon and defeat new enemies called Champions in various locations across the game world. The event comes with its own dedicated player hub and its own storyline that ties in with the larger Age of War narrative and features like player-run taverns.

“[The Sacred Hunt] marks one of the recent foundations upon which future updates can build, where new characters from far and wide can drop by for the player to interact with,” says Funcom. “If you build your tavern, one such character will arrive in Chapter 4, shedding light upon the presence of strange new beasts stalking the wild. Followers are another foundation which Chapter 4 has improved, through more intuitive behavior, controls, and commands.”

Chapter 4 also made progressing through battle passes easier by allowing players to earn battle pass XP from nearly all in-game activities including killing enemies, crafting, and harvesting resources. Funcom has also increased the difficulty of Challenges but also increased their battle pass XP rewards.
