Help Push Fractured Online’s Engine To The Limit This Weekend To Get An Exclusive Title
Fractured Online will be holding a free alpha test this weekend to give fans a chance to take the game for a spin and try to push the game’s backend engine to its limits. The team recently made major improvements to the engine and are looking to gather data and feedback in preparation for the start of backers-only testing.
“The Fractured Online backend engine (SpatialOS) received a major update which should improve performance in very crowded areas and increase the number of players that can be online in the same continent. We want as many players to group up and play together in close spaces and report any outstanding performance issues.”
The alpha weekend stress test will run from 7:00 am PST on February 4th until 1:00 pm PST on February 6th. Testing will be open to Kickstarter backers, Founders Pack owners, and those who were able to register on the game’s official site before 2:59 pm on January 28th. All testers who play for at least two hours will be awarded the exclusive title of “Shaper of Syndesia.”
The weekend test will also feature two new hotkeys, auto run, and an option to toggle combat mode. Improvements have also been made to the combat system, including the addition of a short cooldown between attack animations to prevent players from abusing animation canceling to get a slight boost to attack speed.
