Trading in Last Epoch will involve much more than just selling and exchanging items as developer Eleventh Hour Games revealed ahead of the multiplayer ARPG’s full release next month. The game’s robust trading system ties in with existing lore and will give players the option of joining one of two trade factions: The Merchant’s Guild and the Circle of Fortune.

Joining these trade factions will not only allow players to trade with one another but will also grant them various perks depending on which one they choose. Players who sign-up with The Merchant’s Guild will gain access to the Bazaar where they’ll be able to peddle their wares and purchase items of varying rarity. On the other hand, those who align themselves with the Circle of Fortune will gain a permanent buff that boosts item drops and will allow them to use Phrophecy skills to improve drop quality and quantity.

“Balancing a trade system is one of the most difficult challenges in a loot-based game, because it significantly impacts the item hunt for all players,” said Eleventh Hour founder and CEO Judd Cobler. “But with crucial feedback from our community, we’ve implemented a solution we believe satisfies both sides of the debate, and is a truly unique take on the action RPG trade debate.”

The trade system will go live alongside the game’s Version 1.0 launch on February 21. More information can be found on the Last Epoch official site and the developer video below.
