Riot Games will be bumping up its update cadence for Legends of Runeterra in response to feedback from its community. The studio will now be pushing out new content on a quarterly basis and have offered a general outline of its plans for the League of Legends collectible card game this year.

“As a small team of passionate developers, we have been taking your requests for more content with more consistency seriously, and are happy to share what we’ve got planned coming up,” said Riot. “You’ll be seeing some pretty big updates in the next couple days, weeks, and months.”

Some of the new things coming to the game in the near future is a new competitive structure, exclusive rewards for beta season participants, as well as new items, champions, and relic balance tweaks for Path of Champions. The developers will also be introducing the new Standard Format mode which promises to put your deck-building skills and creativity to the test. “The format you know and love with all cards legal will still be around as the ‘Eternal’ format,” assured Riot.

Players can also expect the arrival of never-before-seen characters throughout the year which will exclusively be available in the card game. The updates themselves will come in three phases for each quarter: an expansion launch, balance updates, and new smaller set card releases.

There are currently no hard dates for the above-mentioned content but we’ll probably hear more about them over the next few weeks. In the meantime, you can check out the new development roadmap below.
