Lost Ark launched its latest update today titled "Cool Retreat" which introduces a whole host of new features including new solo mode raids, progression updates, and more. While Lost Ark's playerbase has declined significantly over the last couple of months, it still averages 19,000 players online on Steam, which makes it one of the most popular MMORPGs on the platform.

Key Features of the Update Include:

  • Solo Mode Dungeons & Raids: This new feature allows players to tackle endgame content such as the Valtan Legion Raid and Ivory Tower Abyssal Dungeon on their own. This mode is perfect for those looking to practice raid mechanics solo or for players finding it challenging to use Party Finder. Rewards include progression materials and gold, although high-level players beyond certain item thresholds will see reduced rewards.
  • Adaptive Class Play: Solo Mode tailors special effects to accommodate different class playstyles and support roles, ensuring a fulfilling experience for all types of players.
  • Scale of Fate System: Players can choose from a variety of battle buffs to aid in their solo endeavors, replacing traditional protections like Procyon's Protection with more personalized support.

Currency and Rewards:

  • Clear Medal: A new form of currency earned through Solo Mode, which can be exchanged for various items at the Solo Mode Exchange NPC in major cities.

Events Galore:

  • End of Current Events: The update marks the conclusion of several ongoing events, including the Super Mokoko Express and Chaos Assault.
  • New Event Powerpass: An Event Powerpass is being introduced, which drops players off in Voldis at Item Level 1520, available until September 25.
  • Super Mokoko Express: A revamped version of this event offers discounted honing rates and materials to quickly boost a character up to Item Level 1600, with the event lasting until September 25.

Maharaka Festival:

  • Summer Fun: The Maharaka Festival returns with event races and activities that transform players into Pirate Mokoko, competing in races to defeat a giant rubber duck. Earn Mokoko Pirate Tokens to exchange for rewards including summer cosmetics and gear enhancement items.

Daily Playtime Rewards:

  • Updated Rewards: The daily playtime rewards have been enhanced to include key progression materials, now rewarding players up to 90 minutes of playtime each day.

Additional Enhancements:

  • Update Gifts: All players will receive a gift pack containing key progression materials to assist in endgame advancement.
  • Store Update: A new cosmetic collection, "Ocean Festival," will be available, featuring 2024 swimsuit collections, Pixel weapons, and more.
