Elder Scrolls Online Kicks Off Its New Season Model on July 8

ZeniMax Online Studios has confirmed July 8 as the launch date for The Elder Scrolls Online Season One, arriving alongside Update 50 and the second run of the Tamriel Tome battle pass system across PC, Mac, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One/Series X|S.

Season One is the first full season under ESO's restructured 2026 live-service model, which replaced the annual paid Chapter cadence with three roughly 90-day seasons per year. That shift began with Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk on April 2, which folded the Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, and Orsinium DLCs into the base game and introduced the Tamriel Tome framework - one free track and up to two premium tracks progressed through weekly and seasonal challenges. ESO Plus subscribers earn one token per 12 months of active subscription, redeemable for a premium Tome track.

Season One's content package expands on that foundation with a refreshed Thieves Guild questline tied to the Gold Coast Bazaar, a multi-part Sheogorath storyline, the new Favors daily quest system, and Dynamic Encounters for overland play. The season also introduces the High Seas of Tamriel event featuring naval combat and underwater exploration, and the new Crimson Veldt trial for endgame groups.

  • Battle pass: Tamriel Tome with one free track and up to two premium tracks; ESO Plus token redemption available
  • Story content: Refreshed Thieves Guild questline via Gold Coast Bazaar; Sheogorath storyline with a second beat dropping July 29
  • New systems: Favors daily quest system and Dynamic Encounters for overland challenge
  • Endgame: Crimson Veldt trial and High Seas of Tamriel naval event
  • Platforms: PC/Mac, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S - simultaneous release

Season Two is slated for winter 2026 and is expected to add solo versions of Moon Hunter Keep and March of Sacrifice, expanded Skyrim world events with Dynamic Storms, and another Night Market run. Players planning around the broader 2026 roadmap should also note that Update 51 has been confirmed for August 31, arriving mid-season with additional system work.
