WoW Hotfixes Buff Frost Death Knight and Warlock Damage

Blizzard Entertainment has released a new round of World of Warcraft hotfixes covering class balance, Delves, dungeons, raids and PvP. The August 25, 2026, list includes changes that may take effect immediately, while others may require scheduled realm restarts.

The class updates include buffs across several specializations. Blizzard said Frost Death Knight had performed below expectations at the beginning of Curse of Ula'tek, particularly in the Venomous Abyss raid. Frost now receives a 6% increase to all ability and melee damage, while Obliterate damage rises by 15%.

What's in the hotfixes

  • Death Knight and Warlock buffs: Frost Death Knight receives the broad damage increase and Obliterate adjustment. Warlock demon damage for Imps, Voidwalkers, Sayaads and Felhunters rises by 350%, alongside damage increases for Affliction, Demonology and Destruction abilities.
  • Other class changes: Havoc Demon Hunter and Brewmaster Monk damage increases by 3%, Survival Hunter damage increases by 4%, and Protection Warrior's Fight Through the Flames provides 8% magic-damage reduction rather than 6%.
  • Retribution Paladin set bonus: The Curse of Ula'tek four-piece Divine Arbiter bonus gains 150% more main-target damage and 75% more secondary-target damage.
  • Healer adjustments: Restoration Druid receives increases to Rejuvenation, Germination and Wild Growth, plus a longer Genesis duration from its four-piece set. Nature's Bounty and Everbloom are also adjusted as part of changes intended to increase dungeon healing while keeping raid power around the same level. Preservation Evoker's Verdant Embrace, Living Flame and Dream Simulacrum are also increased for dungeon healing.
  • Raid and dungeon tuning: The Venomous Abyss has fewer creature spawns, lower blood requirements for doors, reduced Venom Withdrawal damage and duration, and lower Serpent Ward health. Ula'tek receives targeting and encounter-reset fixes, changes to Greasy Hatchling and Virulent Spit, and reduced player requirements for soaking Serpent's Bite.
  • Dungeon adjustments: Kings' Rest receives creature, spell-school, cooldown and targeting changes. Ruby Life Pools replaces a Flashfrost Chillweaver with a Deepstone Earthshaper and adjusts enemy forces to keep routing the same as before. Temple of Sethraliss replaces a Faithless Subjugator with a Lightning Serpent, adjusts enemy forces, and makes Swarming Krolusks wait longer after spawning before attacking.
  • PvP tuning: Holy Paladin healing is reduced by 4% in PvP combat. PvP changes also include damage increases for Devourer Demon Hunter, Feral Druid, Augmentation Evoker and several Hunter abilities, while some defensive or burst effects are reduced for Demon Hunters, Fire Mage, Windwalker Monk and other specializations.

Elsewhere, the hotfixes address an issue preventing Valeera from gaining experience from mislaid curiosities in Delves. Dungeon and raid fixes include encounter-completion, targeting, spell-effect and visual adjustments across locations including Murder Row, The Lost Explorers, Vashnik the Malignant, The Coiled Altar and Atroxus.
