Star Vault is implementing stricter measures to deal with misbehaving players in Mortal Online 2. Instead of giving warnings to first-time offenders and temporary bans leading up to a permanent ban for repeated offenses, the studio is now implementing a three-strike policy to punish offending players.

“We wanted the new process to be as straightforward as possible for our players to understand, and so we will now be using a 3 strike system,” explained Star Vault. “You will no longer receive a written warning when found to be breaking the rules, you will instead receive a temporary ban of 3 days. If caught again you will receive a second temporary ban of two weeks, followed by a permanent ban on the third offense. Three strikes and you’re out. Unless the rule being broken warrants an immediate permanent ban.”

The team also promised to be more transparent when it comes to bans and will be releasing regular reports on the number of accounts that have been banned by the automatic cheat detection system and manually by the game moderators.

Aside from updating their ban policies, the team has also updated the game itself with a new bounty hunting system in this weekend’s patch. They’ve also added “Declare War” and “Request Ally” options in guild diplomacy.

“[…] Anyone can declare war on guilds that are harboring more than one murderer. War Declarations have a cost to start and a cost to surrender. Alliances have a cost to start for both parties. Allied guilds will not be dragged into wars.”

The patch also introduces the new /loot command, Deserter status for players that leave guilds while they’re at war, AI adjustments, and various bug fixes. You can browse through the full patch notes on the Mortal Online 2 official site.
