New World Prepares For A Small Batch Of Server Merges On January 25
Amazon Game Studios is gearing up for another round of New World server merges as part of its efforts to keep server populations at a healthy number. It’s going to be a smaller merge than previous ones and will only three servers in Central EU and US East.
Come January 25th, Central EU’s Hercules server will be merged into Canis while US East’s Orion and Pollux will be merged into Octans. Character creation and character transfers have already been disabled on the said servers and all wars have been put on hold until the merge is completed.
“All characters & companies on retiring worlds will automatically be moved to their new home world,” says Amazon. The studio will be granting refunds to players who transferred to or from the same servers that they’ll be merged with. Companies who own territory on the affected servers will also receive compensation in the form of gold refunds.
