Next Arma Game ‘Arma Reforger’ Leaked, Will Reportedly Be A Bridge To Arma 4

I’ve always felt that the Arma franchise, Arma 3 especially, is a bit underrated and doesn’t get a lot of coverage because, unlike competitive shooters like Counter Strike: Global Offensive or Valorant, the game’s audience is very niche. Since Arma 3’s launch in 2013, the military simulator has added new features and content through a series of DLCs. These include helicopters, jets, long-range infantry mechanics, a massive tropical island, and even a humanitarian organization.

What it didn’t do was launch on consoles, probably because of the sheer number of keybindings needed to function effectively in the game. But, it looks like the next game in the franchise will finally be heading to both PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Unfortunately, it won’t be Arma 4.

A leaked marketing guide spotted by PCGamer claims that the next game is called Arma Reforger and makes use of Bohemia Interactive’s new in-house Enfusion Engine. Arma Reforger will reportedly bridge the gap between the current game and Arma 4, giving Arma’s modding community ample time to build mods using the new engine before the latter’s launch.

Worth noting is that Arma Reforger is being marketed as a “military simulation game” rather than a military simulator which could mean that it’s been made more accessible, especially since it’s allegedly going to launch on consoles in addition to PC. The game will be set in a fictional island in the Atlantic Ocean called Everon, near another fictional Arma island called Malden. Another striking difference from past Arma games is that Reforger will take place in alternate version of 1989 during a fictional conflict between the U.S. and Soviet forces.

While most leaks are usually taken with a grain of salt, the community is treating this one as highly-credible given the fact that Bohemia is gearing up for their The Future of Arma showcase on May 17th.
