Last night’s The Game Awards 2021 came with a whole host of interesting announcements, including a new shared-world survival crafting game called Nightingale. Developed by Inflexion Games, a new studio founded by ex-BioWare devs, the game is set in a Victorian Gaslamp fantasy world where players must travel through magical portals to dangerous realms in their search for the humanity’s last safe haven – Nightingale.

“Nightingale sets players on the journey of the Realmwalker where they must survive across the myriad of increasingly-dangerous realms. Explore alone or band together with other survivors, obtaining valuable materials to construct settlements, and craft vital tools and weaponry as you fight against deadly monstrosities and the Fae, humanity’s magical rivals.”

“From the beginning, we knew we wanted to build an intricate fantasy setting as rich and full of history and life as anything we’ve worked on in the past,” said Inflexion Games CEO and former BioWare GM Aaryn Flynn. “The realms of Nightingale are vast and have many secrets to uncover, and we cannot wait for players to start discovering them.”

The game is backed by Chinese media giant Tencent and is published by Worlds Adrift’s Improbable with Early Access on PC scheduled for sometime next year. Check out the official announcement trailer after the jump. You can also sign up for playtesting on the Nightingale official site.
