Inflexion Games has published a new developer video that homes in on Nightingale’s first long-running playtest last month. The March playtest ran continuously for nearly 60 hours with around 1700 testers taking the upcoming shared-world realm-hopping title for a spin.

The studio reports that the servers were able to run without any downtimes and interruptions for the duration of the playtest which received generally positive feedback from the community on account of the new Fae additions, the new intro cinematic, as well as improvements to the game’s combat system.

Testers, however, were quick to point out glaring problems in the game, including confusing goals, unbalanced resources, and issues with multiplayer progression. Players also reported being ganged up by a rampaging group of boars as soon as they jumped into a new procedural-generated world. The team is currently working to address the boar problem in addition to complaints about noisy bedrolls.

Inflexion is looking to run at least one more playtest, the next of which is planned for May, and is now accepting applicants on the official site. The game itself is expected to launch in the first half of this year, but it looks like the team isn’t quite ready to take the leap.

According to Community Manager Steph Herdman, they’ll be using the last playtest as a “final confidence check” before they announce a final date for the game’s release. In the meantime, the studio is offering a glimpse into what they’ve learned during the March playtest in the video below.
