Playerunknown's Battlegrounds Sells 8M Copies, Xbox Version Coming Soon

In a recent press release, Bluehole Studios has just announced that their beloved battle royale shooter Playerunknown's Battlegrounds has sold over 8 million copies. This is another huge milestone for the immensely popular game, which had announced its 2 million copies sold milestone earlier just this May.

With over 8 million units sold on Steam, Bluehole has also revealed their plans for releasing the game on Xbox One.

“Our goal is to deliver the best Battle Royale experience to a global audience and our partnership with Microsoft will allow us to do just that,” said Chang Han Kim, VP of Bluehole, Inc and Executive Producer for PUBG. “This partnership with Microsoft will accelerate the development and delivery of PUBG to console players around the world as we utilize their vast resources and impressive technical, sales and marketing expertise.”

PUBG will be making its way to Xbox One owners late 2017, with the game launching through the console's Xbox Game Preview program.

The game is still currently in Early Access on Steam. However, PUBG will be expected to make its official debut out of Early Access towards the end of 2017 for Steam players, and early 2018 for Xbox users. As the final launch draws near, Bluehole Studios will be having a very merry Christmas this year.
