RuneScape Bumps Up Max Cash Limit And Rolls Out Quality-Of-Life Improvements

RuneScape players have reason to celebrate as the classic MMORPG’s latest game update brings two highly anticipated changes: an increase in the trade max cash limit and improvements to the Community Hitlist.

The highlight of the update is the significant boost to the max cash limit, allowing players to carry and trade up to 2.147 quintillion gold, a billion times more than the previous cap of 2.147 billion. This substantial increase means that players can now hold wealth far beyond the current total of the entire game, ensuring a lasting impact.

The increase isn’t just about being able to carry more gold, however, as it also has practical implications. Players will no longer need to rely on Spirit Shards to carry large sums of gold, particularly for billionaires. Furthermore, high-value item transactions can now be conducted entirely through the Grand Exchange, although direct player-to-player trades remain an option. The RuneScape team will closely monitor the mid prices of items like Party Hats to assess any emerging stability or potential issues related to the new trade cap.

It’s important to note that the update does not affect the capacity of banks and inventories. Storing 2.147 quintillion of anything is simply not feasible. Players will need to strategize and make conscious decisions if they wish to carry large sums of gold and manage potential risks.

In addition to the trade cap increase, the update addresses several issues from the Community Hitlist, which gathered feedback from thousands of players. Wilderness teleport restrictions for players who opt out of PvP have now been removed, allowing for quicker farming.

Additionally, players can now charge God Books with multiple pages simultaneously, and text in dialog boxes will now scale to a larger font size. Iron players will also benefit from certain effects unlocked by other players, provided they have met the non-skill pre-requisites for those abilities.

The full patch notes on the RuneScape official site offers further details on the update, including the Beach event cosmetics which are now available to free-to-play accounts.
