Shards Online Pre-Alpha 3 Begins

Citadel Studios announced yesterday that Shards Online's third Pre-Alpha test is now open. Players at the $40 Alpha backer tier and higher now have access to the game. Those who have yet to back the game can still do so, getting instant 24/7 access for a $40 or higher pledge.

In its current state, Shards Online already presents many of its features in at least a basic form. The first "home world map," Celador, is "almost fully fleshed out." Player housing is in with 13 different blueprints. The combat system currently features 13 combat abilities, 10 spells, and 8 skill-based abilities. Players can craft a total of 144 recipes across Metalsmithing, Woodsmithing, Fabrication, and Alchemy. Seventeen creatures can be tamed.
