Since last year, Saga of Lucimia developer Stormhaven Studios has been rather quiet about the state of the upcoming hardcore group-focused MMORPG, even after news of creator Tim Anderson and his brother’s departure from the studio came to light. Understandably, the studio couldn’t comment on situation at the time due to legal reasons but the team assured fans that the development on the game continues “full steam ahead.”

Apparently, the team has also been silently working on rebranding the game as Embers Adrift and have moved away the Saga of Lucimia IP altogether.

While still delivering on the core tenets and philosophies we’ve always promoted, our game will no longer be based on Saga of Lucimia IP,” tweeted Stormhaven. “We took a look at our product and recognized a need to emphasize the features and mechanics that were working and move away from elements that were not.”

“Our goal is not to recreate any past MMORPG, but to create a new game that is innovative in its design while drawing inspiration from experiences with classic MMOs and tabletop games; an MMORPG that is focused on community and presents them with deeply immersive and challenging content that will help them forge lasting memories,” said the studio.

“Our path to launch is clear and we’re very excited to invite MMORPG players around the world to keep an eye on [Embers Adrift],” they concluded.
