Western players who’ve been playing the Korean version of Throne and Liberty were summarily booted from the game yesterday with the game’s latest update. The said update introduced new security measures to help prevent account theft, which inadvertently ended up locking non-Korean players out of the game.

Throne and Liberty KR now requires players to verify both their accounts and the device they’re playing on using two-factor authentication through a local phone number. The Throne and Liberty Online fansite offers instructions on how to bypass the authentication system, but you’re going to have to jump through a few hoops to do so.

Keep in mind that you’ll need to go through the extra steps every time you login. If it’s worth the trouble, you’ll find the detailed instructions here. Or, you can always just wait for Amazon’s global version to launch sometime this year.
