Top Down MMORPG Corepunk Releases Status Report, Closed Beta Begins December 2021

Corepunk, the top down MMORPG announced in 2019, made a post today on /r/mmorpg discussing progress made on the game since its first reveal. Since its reveal in 2019, the developers have been busy at work on the game and haven't released many new gameplay videos besides this 15 minute alpha footage from June 2020:

15 Minutes of Corepunk Alpha Gameplay

In their post on Reddit, the Corepunk developers said they were working on the game's combat and loot systems. The most notable reveal is that loot in Corepunk will drop on the ground (similar to popular ARPGs like Path of Exile and Diablo 3) instead of on corpses. The developers have said this makes loot feel more "tangible".
