Total War franchise developer Creative Assembly has unveiled its 2022 development roadmap for Total War: Warhammer 3 which came out back in February. The roadmap offers an overview of the new content and features coming to the popular RTS franchise over the next few months, including three free Regiments of Renown unit packs and the much-awaited Immortal Empires DLC.

Immortal Empires merges the maps and factions from all three Total War: Warhammer games into one game mode and will be coming out sometime in Q3 2022 with Update 2.0.

“Immortal Empires is a monumental undertaking that will continue to grow and evolve from the moment it lands in the game. So, to highlight the ongoing focus on its development, we will initially be making it available as an integrated open beta across all platforms.”

Update 2.0 will also feature the addition of modding tools via the Total War Assembly Kit along with the first phase of the Old World Updates. These updates will revamp races that have yet to be brought up-to-date with Warhammer 3’s new gameplay mechanics.

The last quarter of 2022 will either see the release of Update 3.0 or a smaller Update 2.2 which will polish up existing content including the Immortal Empires game mode.

“As with any timeline, projects may shift in scope or timing; this is normal and expected, and we will work to update you on any changes in regular STATE OF THE GAME posts year-round,” said Creative Assembly. “These will allow us to revisit what we’re working on, update you with any moment-to-moment changes to the content or schedule, and look further forward to future releases as they are prepared.”

You can check out the full roadmap on the Total War: Warhammer 3 official site. The game also recently arrived on the Epic Games Store if you want to play through that platform.
