Tribes 3: Rivals, the latest game in the sci-fi FPS series, has officially launched into Steam Early Access 12 years after the last game and 25 years after the first game in the series came out. The early access launch is accompanied by a development roadmap that spans the remaining months until the end of Q2 2024.

The rest of March will obviously be dedicated to balancing classes and weapons, improving in-game art, and fixing post-launch bugs and issues. April will mark the arrival of the capture-the-flag shooter’s first major update, dubbed Plasma, which will introduce a new weapon called the Plasma Gun, while the latter part of the month will see the addition of a new space-themed map called Moonrise.

The rest of Q2 2024 will focus on more balance adjustments and fixes, the addition of new class abilities and possibly new weapons, and a new map that will be based on player feedback. For now, what you see is what you get.

Tribes: 3 Rivals will set you back $19.99 but you can grab a copy for just $17.99 on or before March 27. The full patch notes should give you a good idea of what to expect, as will the official early access launch trailer below.
