Valheim Toughens Up Several Bosses, Sells 4 Million Units In 3 Weeks

valheim dark forest bannerBlood-thirsty Vikings are apparently making quick work of several bosses in Valheim prompting the Norse gods over at Iron Gate to make them more challenging. The latest update to the recently-released Viking survival game ups the difficulty of Bonemass, Moder and Yagluth because the players were “killing them too fast.”

Iron Gate doesn’t give specifics on how they tweaked the bosses but with a peak concurrency of 500,000 players, I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough. If you want to give them a go, Bonemass can be found in the swamp, Moder in the mountains, and Yagluth in the plains.

The update also brings a number of other tweaks, fixes, and quality-of-life improvements, including a slight increase in the audio range of the Deathsquitos which should give players enough warning before they get one-shotted by the annoying things. The team has also fixed the game-breaking bug caused by using Alt+F4 when logging out. You can browse through the full list of changes on the Valheim Steam Community Page.

Meanwhile, Valheim continues to take the gaming world by storm as it hits another milestone. According to the latest update from Iron Gate, the game has sold 4 million copies in just three weeks since the game launched into Early Access.

“When Valheim first hit Steam Early Access just three weeks ago, we hoped that all the hard work our small team put into the game these past three years would get the attention it deserved,” said Iron Gate. “Little did we know just how much Valheim would resonate with all four million of you. [. . .] Four million brave souls embarking on the most dangerous feat in over a thousand years of Viking history - trying to make Odin proud.”

Players have also racked up a total of 10,000 years of playtime which equates to roughly 87.5 million hours.
