World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is now on its second phase of alpha testing with a new zone to explore, new dungeons to prowl, and profession changes to try out. Testers are advised to create new characters for each phase of testing and avoid using previously-created ones as they could have been broken with the update.

For Phase 2, Blizzard has opened up the Forbidden Reach, the starting zone for the Drachtyr race, and removed The Azure Span to allow testers to focus on the new zone and the Drachtyr starting experience.

Testers also have access to two new level 60 dungeons: Neltharus and Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr. Entering these and other Dragonflight dungeons during testing will automatically scale character levels to the dungeon’s entry requirements but the amount of Talent points that they have will remain at their original levels.

The revamped Shaman Talent Trees are now also available for testing which comes with various updates to totems and each of the Shaman specs. “Totems have long been a special thing for Shaman, and we’re giving some new options to manipulate your totems position, radius, duration, cleanse poisons, or even potentially reset the cooldown,” said Blizzard.

“We’re bringing back Alpha Wolf for Enhancement Shaman, spreading some Stormkeeper functionality to Restoration Shaman, and trying out a new variation of Elemental Blast for Elemental Shaman, where it replaces Earth Shock as a more expensive Maelstrom Spender,” added the studio. “All three of the Shaman specializations have a distinct style of play, and we’re hoping the new talents allow you to focus on your important totems, utility, and style of damage or healing you enjoy.”

The latest alpha build also introduces new Cooking recipes and specializations for the Alchemy and Blacksmithing professions. Testers will be able to train their Cooking skill and obtain reagents from Firelord Nomi, while those looking to try out the new Alchemy and Blacksmithing specialization will be able to get 50 Specialization points to spend from Associate Professor Instructaur for testing purposes.

The latest alpha release notes can be found on the World of Warcraft official forums for your inspection.
