Zems Goes The Patreon Route

Following a failed Kickstarter at the end of last year, a new Patreon campaign has opened for the in-development tactical strategy/card game hybrid Zems. It's fairly uncommon to see games end up on Patreon, much less games that are attempting to push through a failed Kickstarter. More often, the developers will attempt Kickstarter again or take a shot at an IndieGoGo campaign instead. The developers stated the following about the unconventional move.

We received a lot of positive reception during our Kickstarter last year. Unfortunately, the Kickstarter did not succeed and we did not collect any pledges. We have a plan to move forward with development in 2016, but we could greatly use your support.

At present, there are only three modest tiers that you can subscribe to. A $1 per month tier will net you Backer status and access to Backer-only forums. The $5 and $10 per month tiers will get you into the Closed Beta when it begins, as well as granting various amounts of booster packs and additional deck slots for every two months you support the game for.
