Overview

Azur Lane Overview

Azur Lane is a free-to-play 2D mobile shoot 'em up game developed by Shanghai Manjuu and Xiamen Yongshi. The game is set during World War II where the player takes control of anthromorphized moe warships such as the USS St. Louis, the USS Enterprise, the battleship Nagato, and more. It blends side-scrolling shooter gameplay as found in the Touhou Project games with RPG elements and gacha collection of moe ships, similar to Girls' Frontline and Kancolle. Gameplay consists of naval combat with two fleets, each with a front and back row that offer different roles in combat. The front row, or Escort fleet, are directly controlled by the player and must be moved to dodge enemy attacks on a grid, whereas the back row, or the Main fleet, acts as a support with charged abilities that can be unleashed on the enemy. Along with the game's combat, the game features gacha ship building, the character dormitory, a marriage system, character upgrades, and more at the core of its gameplay. Combat can also be completed using auto-controlled AI, but at the cost of less efficient battle, making the game more player-involved than the average mobile title.

Azur Lane Key Features:

  • Engaging Gameplay – control your front line, dodging bullet hell attacks while unleashing powerful attacks to take down your foes.
  • AI and Manual Combat – choose between automated or manual combat, allowing for players to quickly complete battles or to maximize their rewards.
  • Ship Customization – upgrade and customize moe ship girls, giving them the skills needed to succeed in battle.
  • Live2D Interaction – engage with your favorite characters using Live2D technology, allowing for fully-animated and voice acted interactions.
  • Over 250 Ships – collect a huge variety of battleships, cruisers, aircraft carriers, and more, each with their own unique artwork, stats, and more.
