Overview

Destiny Child Overview

Destiny Child is a mobile RPG developed by NextFloor and published by LINE Games. The game includes hundreds of collectible 'Childs', summonable characters led in teams of five. Like other gacha RPGs, players can obtain these characters primarily through the game's summoning system as well as by simply playing through the story. The most distinct element of Destiny Child is its animations which immediately stands out; each child is drawn using Live2D, a technique giving depth and motion to otherwise still characters, resulting in a beautiful art style with striking character design by Hyung Tae Kim, an illustrator praised for his character design in Blade & Soul. While the western release has plenty of fan service characters and skins, it was mildly censored compared to its Korean counterpart, which shows more skin in various outfits. Each child has their own abilities and stats as well as backstory and voice acting. Players execute each Child's three different types of abilities: Tap skills are used by tapping and go on cooldown upon use, Slide skills are used by sliding the Child's icon up, and Drive skills are used by building up its gauge and completing a timed quick time event. Like Fate/Grand Order and other gacha RPGs, progression through the game's story is largely linear and stage based.

Destiny Child Key Features:

  • Beautiful Live2D Animated Characters - attractive character design with fluid Live2D animation gives personality and charm to every Child.
  • Over 100 Collectible Childs - each Child has their own lore, voice acting, abilities, stats, elements, and roles, letting players strategize and customize their team to their liking.
  • Real-Time Combat - players execute each Child's unique Tap, Slide, and Drive abilities in real time, including timed QTE attacks.
  • Challenging World Bosses - massive boss events requiring 20 Childs are continually added to the game, such as the Christmas themed boss Krampus.
  • Asynchronous PvP - battle against other teams set up by real players but with opponents controlled by AI.
  • Auto Play and 2x Speed - choose between manual and auto depending on the content's difficulty, with 2x speed letting players breeze through otherwise tedious parts.
