Dreamland Online Overview
Dreamland Online was a free 3D side-scrolling MMORPG available on Facebook, which required a plug-in to play. It featured many of the usual mechanics found in MMORPGs, particularly anime-styled ones: a pet system, multiple classes, player housing, dungeons, and PvP combat. Its class system in particular stands out thanks to its multiple advancements, allowing players to branch into more advanced classes at their first transfer. The pet system was also notable because it allowed players to tame wild animals and use them as pets or mounts, which were important to succeed in the game. Many of the elements in Dreamland Online could be found in more popular side-scrolling MMORPGs such as Maple Story.
Dreamland Online Key Features:
- 12 Playable Classes – Pick from four base classes: Warrior, Mage, Archer and Rogue, then advance to greater classes at your first transfer: Knight, Gladiator, Mage, Priest, Hunter, Ranger, Rogue, Bandit, and Assassin.
- Pet System – Nearly every monster can become a pet to be raised, traded, or fused with other pets to create awesome new combinations.
- Tons of Mounts – Ride a monster, skateboard, hoverboard, robot, monkey, and more.
- Player Housing – Design and decorate your own home where you can store items.

Development History / Background:
Dreamland Online was developed and published by IGG, a Chinese game developer and publisher specializing in free-to-play games on mobile, browser, and client platforms. Their games are available in over 15 different languages, and are often developed by their in-house teams. Dreamland Online had a closed beta on November 21, 2010, then launched an open registration website on December 13, 2010. The game received updates and had an active playerbase on Facebook, and was shut down with little notice in early May 2014. IGG’s revenue comes primarily from their mobile titles, so the shut down of a client-based game was not surprising.
