Luna Online Overview

Luna Online is a 3D fantasy MMORPG unique for its focus on social features and character development, providing a matchmaking system for users and over fifty different branching playable classes. Players fill out likes and dislikes and are matched with another user, who they can begin to date and use special emotes with each other. Players who are dating can enter unique Date Dungeons which are only available to players who have partners, and can also start families with their friends that act as the game's version of guilds. Families can maintain their own farms and enter dungeons together, integrating the game's community-based features directly into more typical MMORPG elements. The game was previously shut down in 2012 and was re-released by Suba Games as Luna Online: Reborn.

Development History / Background:

Luna Online was developed by EYA Interactive, developer of Titan Online and Legend of Edda, and was originally published by Gala-Net for the North American audience with a release on June 30, 2009. The game was available through the gPotato portal and saw an NA-only expansion on January 20, 2011 titled Luna Plus, that added a multitude of new game features that included a higher level cap, a new race, and more. The NA version of the game was taken off of the gPotato portal one year later after on March 27, 2012, with its only other active servers being the game's old version. Players petitioned the Suba Games forums on June 4, 2014 to re-release Luna Online, as Suba Games is notable for its re-release of dead games. On October 31, 2015 a GM announced that the game was in progress for a re-release by Suba Games and its new version would be titled Luna Online: Reborn with a brand new client. No release date has been announced as of yet. Luna Online also has a successor in development titled Luna: Moonlight Thieves.
