Development History / Background:

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel is a free-to-play online collectible card game (CCG) based on Kazuki Takahashi’s Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga series which ran from September 1996 to March 2004.

The game is developed and published by Konami Digital Entertainment and was first announced by the Japanese video game development studio on July 20, 2022 during the first Yu-Gi-Oh! Digital NeXt presentation. Konami announced their plans to launch the game in Winter 2021 during their Tokyo Game Show 2021 presentation but it was eventually delayed to January 2022.

Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel officially launched on January 19, 2022 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, as well as on Android and iOS mobile devices. It quickly rose to the top of Steam’s “Most-Played Games” list and has received “Mostly Positive” reviews on the platform.

As of February 6, Konami reports that the game has been downloaded more than 10 million times.
