Sunday Funday Round 55 - Tera
Tera Sunday Funday Gameplay Video
This week the MMOs.com crew (Missing Shu/Sean) took a lot at Tera. A bit of a departure from the NCSoft universe, but we'll return there later. Tera, published by En Masse Entertainment, is an action MMORPG that originally launched with a subscription model but later went free to play. It was only after going free to play did Tera explode in popularity. Along with Blade and Soul, Tera is one of the few non-instanced action MMORPGs out there. Despite the game's age (2011 release), Tera has a gorgeous game world and solid character designs. One thing we all complained about was the incredibly fast leveling in the current version of the game. It seems like En Masse went the same route as MapleStory / World of Warcraft in making the early game content super fast paced, as players can get to max level in a few days of very casual play grinding the battleground. In fact, one player got to max level (1-65) in under 4 hours grinding dungeons. Despite this, Tera remains a solid free to play MMORPG and is still worth checking out. It's one of the few free to play MMORPGs that no one considers pay 2 win (as it sells almost exclusively cosmetics).
