This week’s hottest eSports news and highlights for League of Legends, League Championship Series Summer Split 2016
All of the leagues are currently on break. However, one of the biggest format overhauls in LCS history is about to take place. With the introduction of best of threes in North America and best of twos in Europe, the scheduling of the two leagues will be completely different.
Here's the details for NA:
As you can see, Saturday and Sunday will features two consecutive streams in order to accommodate for all of the additional games. With this format, you can be assured that the LCS will be drastically different league.

Virtus.pro win SL i-League Invitational
Organized by SLTV in Kiev, Ukraine, the StarLadder i-League Invitational #1 went from May 5th to May 22nd. Featuring a $100,000 prize pool, there were eight participating teams:

Here's how the tournament went down:
In the finals, Virtus.pro faced Natus Vincere in a tense best of three series. Virtus.pro took Na'Vi's strong map, Inferno, 16-11 while Na'Vi took Virtus.pro's map, Train, in a dominating 16-8 victory. In the final decisive map, Cobblestone, Virtus.pro took off after a 9-9 tie to win 16-10. As the champions, Virtus.pro won $50,000 and won their first premier tournament since CEVO Season 8 in November 2015.
Esports Championship Series Season 1
The eSports Championship Series, organized by FACEIT and Twitch, boasts an aggregate $3.5 million prize pool. The tournament features two leagues: European and North American, with ten teams in each league. The League is formatted with a round robin in best of threes.

ELEAGUE, organized by Turner Sports and WME/IMG, is a new premier CS:GO tournament that features a outstanding $1,200,00 prize pool. Running from May 24th to July 30th, the tournament will be broadcast on TBS and is geared towards appealing to a broad audience. Here are the participating teams:
