1v1 MOBA One Tower Launches On Steam Next Month

Have you ever wished that MOBAs were simpler? Perhaps you've wished that your team didn't drag you down so often. Maybe you just think they take far too long. If any of these apply to you, One Tower might be worth checking out.

One Tower is a free-to-play "micro MOBA" that aims to provide a more accessible MOBA experience. Players go head-to-head in 1v1 battles, during which they can choose what minions spawn during each wave, pick up power-ups, and trigger traps. You can even customize your one tower.

It is said that there will be 12 Heroes and 30 Minions available in Season One. Competitive leagues, tournaments, and "special events," are also planned.

Following a successful run on Kickstarter earlier this year, One Tower will be launching on Steam sometime next month. An exact date has yet to be announced.

Matt's Take:

Vainglory has already proven that a one-lane MOBA can work, but it is exclusive to mobile. Supernova attempted allowing players to customize their minion spawns, but the implementation ultimately fell short. I'm quite interested in seeing if One Tower will be able to pull it off in terms of implementation and the fact that it is looking to trim the fat, so to speak, on other MOBA mechanics makes it that much more intriguing.
