Three Whales Studio has expanded Age of Water’s early access launch to now include next-gen console users on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It doesn’t look like it will support cross-platform play though, but the team promises the same water-logged adventure regardless of what platform you’re playing on.

Age of Water is a Waterworld-inspired survival game set in a post-apocalyptic Earth that’s almost completely covered by water. “A player assumes the role of a captain who sails through storms, participates in battles and trading, captures other people’s boats and ships or builds their own and extracts resources from the bottom of the ocean,” the indie studio explains. “Age of Water’s story is great for solo play, but a player can interact with other captains, call friends to join them in difficult battles, and can participate in fully optional PvP events.”

The game is still on track for early access launch on April 18 on both PC and consoles. Three Whales has yet to reveal a box-price for the game, but the Age of Water Steam page does confirm that it will indeed be buy-to-play. The PC version will also come with controller support for those who prefer a console feel. A free demo is also available on Steam.
