Albion Online Reports Nearly 40,000 Accounts Banned Since Its East Server Launch

Albion Online’s new Albion East server has seen a surge in population growth following its recent release. However, with the increase in players, comes the inevitable influx of cheaters trying to gain an unfair advantage. Developer Sandbox Interactive has since declared an all-out war on cheaters and botters, employing new technical measures and increasing its staff to weed out bad actors.

As part of their efforts, the studio reports that they’ve banned roughly 38,800 accounts that were caught engaging in speed-hacking, botting, RMT, scripting, macroing, and other illicit behavior. “Our technical measures against speed-hackers seem to be holding, as we continue to see a much lower number of reports than previously,” the team reported. “This means that we can and will continue to focus on people using bots or other types of automation.”

“[…] We have been focusing more of our resources on eliminating accounts that have gained unfair advantages in other ways,” they added. “Cheaters, of course, are nothing new, and prior to our announcement on speed-hacking and spending more resources on these issues, we were not idle on this matter either.”
