Sandbox Interactive is shaking up the PvP experience in Albion Online as its Crystal Raiders update officially goes live. The update expands on the PvP sandbox MMORPG’s territory warfare system with the introduction of territory raiding in the Outlands which involve new energy collection mechanics.

As previously revealed, guilds will now be able to raid other guild territories as a lower risk alternative to conquering them. The goal of the update is to encourage more guild fights in the Outlands by allowing smaller guilds to take on bigger ones without having to commit a ton of manpower and resources to taking over a territory and maintaining its defenses.

“This brand-new system brings depth and complexity to territory control across Albion's most dangerous zones, allowing guilds to raid and steal Siphoned Energy unannounced from their rivals' territories, while ensuring larger guilds don't get too comfortable with territory defense,” Sandbox Interactive explains.

Raiding a territory and making off with Raw Energy, however, is just the beginning. Players will need to successfully carry the spoils back to their home territory within 30 minutes or it will automatically be returned to the raided guild’s energy storage.

Aside from new territory raiding mechanics, the update also introduced the new Crystal Weapon type. These new weapons can be crafted using artifact rewards awarded at the end of each guild season. That’s in addition to various adjustments and changes to territories and hideouts, target tracking, and Conqueror’s Challenge rewards.
