Albion Online Talks Up The Mists Region And Explains How To Get There

It’s about to get foggy up in Albion Online as Sandbox Interactive prepares to unleash The Mists on the players of the PvP sandbox MMORPG.

While The Mists might be a fitting name for a Halloween event, it’s actually going to be a new realm that players will be able to enter by approaching one of the Will o’ the Wisps that will be wandering around the game world. The Will o’ the Wisp will then retreat back into The Mists, leaving a portal for one player to go through. They’ll occasionally let two players through but the pair will be transported to a different instance so that solo players and duos don’t run into one another.

The Mists are home to enchanted creatures that drop better loot than those found in the “normal” game world. It’ll also have the same resources found outside of the realm which means that solos or duos can choose to do their grinding there for a chance to score better loot. Players will also have to contend with other challenges found within the new realm. This includes other players, although whether the PvP rules will be set as lethal or non-lethal depend on which area you entered The Mists from.

“The Mists offer a whole range of PvE and PvP possibilities similar to the open world, but dedicated exclusively to solo or duo players,” Sandbox Interactive explains. “We can’t wait to launch this feature and let you explore this magical realm and its mysteries, whatever it is you seek there.”
