Archlord 2 Shutting Down

Webzen has announced the closure of Archlord 2, officially shutting down on Novemeber 24, 2015. The free to play fantasy themed game heavily emphasized PvP gameplay and was fairly successful. The farewell address from Webzen highlights some of the impressive statistics the game garnered, such as "300,000 players have logged on to Archlord 2 for a combined total of over 5 million hours... of play-time."

While no specific reason for the game's closure was given Webzen will be adding a number of buffs and all in-game shop items will be reduced to 0 Wcoin—essentially the Viking funeral rights for an MMOs closure, such as Moonrise.

Archlord 2 may be turning their servers off but perhaps the move was made to focus on ASTA Online and the recently announced Western release of Elite Lord of Alliance (Perhaps the money used to run Archlord 2's servers will be redistributed to the legal department in an effort to combat Game Release Entertainment's Inspirit Online).
