ArenaNet Is Reportedly Going Through Another Round Of Layoffs And Restructuring

arenanet logo white bg bannerAfter laying-off hundreds of employees in early 2019 as a result of NCSoft’s restructuring, ArenaNet looks like it’s going through another round of layoffs. Jennifer Scheurle, a lead game designer at the studio and senior designer on an unannounced project, recently tweeted that she had been let go as part of yet another “re-shuffling” at the studio.

“I just lost my job at ArenaNet as of today as part of a re-shuffling of projects, which means I am looking for a job as a Game Designer pretty much immediately,” said Scheurle on Twitter. “Being laid off on the spot is an extremely traumatizing experience. I was locked out of my work computer within 10 minutes and I didn’t even get a chance to say goodbye to my colleagues.”

ArenaNet and NCSoft have yet to comment on the matter and it’s still unclear how many employees were affected by the reshuffling and which games have been canceled or reshuffled. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to everyone affected.
