Since Studio Wildcard unveiled ARK: Survival Ascended to the gaming community, the studio has been extremely close-mouthed about the ARK: Survival Evolved remaster. Aside from a vague launch window of October and several concept art teasers, we didn’t really have anything to go on.

Lo and behold! ARK: Survival Ascended has officially launched into early access with a few days to spare until the end of October. The current build includes the original island map, plenty of prehistoric creatures to tame, and mod support. New maps and all content through Genesis 2 will eventually be making its way to the remaster throughout the early access phase which is expected to run until the end of 2024.

“ARK: Survival Ascended is a next-generation remake of the beloved ARK: Survival Evolved game that harnesses the cutting-edge power of Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) for huge improvements and enhancements to the visuals and gameplay,” reads the launch press release.

“The definitive survival experience returns better than ever: create a Survivor, form a tribe, and then tame, train, breed & ride dinosaurs within a living ecosystem. Monitor your food, water, temperature, and weather patterns. Slowly expand outwards then start to harvest, build structures, farm crops, customize each visual design and proceed to explore to uncover the true nature of The Island and the worlds beyond.”

ARK: Survival Ascended is now available to play exclusively on Steam and will be making its way to Xbox and PlayStation consoles in November, with cross-play support to be introduced sometime in December.
