ARK: Survival Evolved Reveals ‘Extinction’ Expansion Launch Date
Extinction and dinosaurs go hand in hand, which is probably why Studio Wildcard decided on Extinction as the name of the upcoming expansion for ARK: Survival Evolved. According to the studio, the ominously-named expansion is where the ARK story goes full circle.
“By far our most ambitious project yet, we are thrilled to take you back to where it all started. Finish your journey through the worlds of ARK in ‘Extinction’, where the story began and ends: on Earth itself! An Element-infested, ravaged planet filled with fantastical creatures both organic and technological, Earth holds both the secrets of the past and the keys to its salvation. As a veteran Survivor who has conquered all previous obstacles, the ultimate challenge awaits: can you defeat the gigantic roaming Titans which dominate the planet and complete the ARK cycle to save Earth’s future?”
The expansion isn’t due to launch on PC and consoles until November 6th but the developers have promised Extinction-related content drops in the months leading up to its release. These include Explorer Notes, new skins, and Tek-themed dinosaurs. Explorer’s Pack and Season pass holders will get the expansion for free. Extinction can also be purchased as a standalone upgrade.
