Become A Raid Boss In The Lineage 2 ‘Prelude Of War’ Update, Now Live

Ever wondered what it would be like if you were a raid boss in your favorite MMORPG? Well, with the Lineage 2 “Prelude of War” update which just rolled out yesterday for the 4game servers, you’ll be able to do just that and loot all the Adena you can carry. That’s if you can survive six whole hours with the whole server hunting you down.

The event will run from Monday to Thursday from 6pm to 11:59pm CEST. Here’s how it works. Two damned weapons will randomly drop mobs or players during the event: the dual Akamanah swords and the two-handed sword Zarich. Whoever picks up the swords will automatically be transformed into a demonic raid boss and will have six hours to kill as many players as they can and grab the loot they drop. Their location will also be shown to the entire server giving other players a chance to kill the owner of the sword and pick it up along with the potential rewards for themselves.

The update also introduces a new competitive ranking feature. “Each morning, at 6:30 CEST, the top 100 characters within the server and the top 10 characters within the race are determined by the amount of experience,” explains the devs in a press release earlier today. “All kinds of bonuses are given to those who occupy the top slots, however even they bow to the one who climbed to first place. As soon as such a player is in the city, then everyone else will automatically bow.”
