Blue Protocol Showcases New Heavy Smasher Class, Joint Emotes, And New Features

blue protocol heavy smasher bannerWe’ve heard very little from Blue Protocol since the anime-style MMORPG started closed beta testing in Japan last year. From what we could gather, all we know about the upcoming game is that players will have access to a customizable radial quick-slot and a photo mode. Bandai Namco, however, has released more information about the game during a developer livestream last week.

During the livestream, the devs showed off a new off-tank class called the Heavy Smasher. Equipped with a massive metal ball hammer, the Heavy Smasher can deal significant damage to enemies in close range, activate additional armor to absorb heavy hits, and go toe to toe with harder-hitting enemies thanks to a high HP pool. The Heavy Smasher is slated for release on official launch day, which, unfortunately, still doesn’t have a definite date.

The devs also highlighted several gameplay adjustments that they’ve made based on feedback from the closed beta testers. These include the ability to infinitely stack materials, a wishlist feature that lets players keep track of materials needed to craft chosen items, and the removal of energy drain when riding mounts.

In addition, the developers, also gave viewers a look at a basic companion system that will let players recruit NPCs to help them out in joint battle events. They also showed off the new joint emote feature that will allow players to perform shared emotes such as holding hands or playing rock, paper, scissors.

You can check out the full stream below to see the new content for yourself. Do note that it’s entirely in Japanese, but you can always just skip to the good parts.
