Call Of Duty: Warzone Plans To Nerf DMR 14, Type 63, Mac 10, And Dual Pistols (Updated)

call of duty warzone dmr 14 bannerSince the Call of Duty: Warzone and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War merger last month, Warzone’s meta has been absolutely dominated by several Black Ops weapons namely: the DMR 14, Type 63, Mac 10, and dual-wield pistols. Over the past few weeks, the DMR 14 has been the weapon-of-choice because of its ability to kill enemies in two shots along with Akimbo dual-wield Diamatti and .357 revolvers.

Apparently, Raven Software is now in charge of Warzone post-merge and have just announced their plans to roll out a balance update to nerf the overpowered weapons. “Don’t fret! We’ve heard you and a balance update is coming soon to address concerns about the DMR 14, Type 63, Mac 10, and dual pistols,” tweeted the studio. The changes will be exclusive to Warzone.

Warzone players can also expect the return of Plunder Quads, Resurgence Trios, and the Rebirth Island – Mini Royale Duos.

Update:

Raven Software has just rolled out the balance patch earlier today and posted a brief rundown of the adjustments on the Call of Duty: Warzone Twitter page. Here are the changes:

  • DMR 14 - Reduced headshot damage, increased recoil
  • Type 63 - Reduced headshot damage, increased recoil
  • Mac-10 - Decreased headshot multiplier
  • Dual pistols - Increased hip fire spread, decreased damage range
