Deathwing the Destroyer is poised to emerge from the depths of Azeroth for another round of world smashing. He won’t be coming to World of Warcraft Classic until later this year, but open beta testing for Cataclysm Classic is now underway for those who want to help Blizzard iron out the kinks before its launch.

“From the fires of destruction, a new Azeroth arises. Following Deathwing the Destroyer's cataclysmic entrance, which left a festering wound across Azeroth, heroes are called once again to experience a dramatically reforged Azeroth and defend it from utter devastation.”

Like the WoW Classic expansions before it, Cataclysm Classic promises new quality-of-life changes over the original release, including an improved leveling experience, faster content drops, an expanded Collections interface, and more.

While players will get free access to Cataclysm Classic with a monthly subscription or game time, they also have the option to purchase the Blazing Heroic Pack which includes an Avatar of Flame flying mount, a a Lil'Wrathion pet, the Twilight's Hammer Regalia transmog set, and the Town-In-A-Box Starter Set toy. The pack will set you back $29.99, but if you have extra cash to burn, you can also opt for the Blazing Epic Upgrade which also comes with a Level 80 character boost and a month of free game time.

Cataclysm Classic officially launches on August 31.
