Co-op Mode Arrives In Dota 2 Later This Month

The Dota 2 International Battle Pass is now available, and buyers who spend $10 or more will gain access to a cooperative multiplayer campaign. Who woulda thunk it? It's called Siltbreaker, and is split into two parts, with the first releasing later this month and second act coming in July.

Available to play later this month—and with Act II arriving in July—this all-new campaign calls upon you to party up with three friends or queue-met allies to battle through a diverse landscape of loathsome monsters, cunning traps, and other lethal terrors.

Participants will earn Campaign XP; accumulate enough to spin the Wheel of Rewards which can grant a Desert Sands Baby Roshan, exclusive to the campaign. It's a great way to incentive the Battle Pass: 25% of all Battle Sales add up to The International 2017 prize pool, which has nearly hit $4.5 million.

While Dota 2 (and its competitors) are primarily known for intense multiplayer gameplay, cooperative modes are a smart move to not only draw back in players but give a competitive edge. I wont be surprised if we see League of Legends make a similar announcement in the not-too-distant future.
