Cold Iron Is A New AAA Online Action Game Studio

A new "AAA game development studio" has been formed under the name "Cold Iron." Founding members of the studio include CEO and former Cryptic Studios COO Craig Zinkievich, CTO and former Cryptic Studios Game Director and Principal Programmer Shannon Posniewski, and Creative Director and former Neverwinter Art Director Matt Highison. The studio's first project is an Unreal Engine 4-powered "AAA online action game" of the sci-fi variety that is "fully-funded," so there are no Kickstarter efforts in sight. A prototype has already been completed.

Zinkievich had the following to say about the announcement.

We couldn’t be more excited to finally introduce the world to Cold Iron. We decided to start this studio last year with exactly one goal in mind: to create compelling games that we wanted to play absolutely all the time. To do that, we put together a pitch, built a great prototype, got fully-funded, and are now building an unstoppable team. We’re working hard on a AAA online action game that is literally out of this world, and we cannot wait to share it with you.
