Corepunk Suspends Support For The Russian Region As War Rages In Ukraine

The last that we heard from Artificial Core was that several of their employees and their families were hunkered down in bomb shelters in Kyiv as Russia bombarded the Ukrainian capital. Most of their staff, however, had already relocated to safer regions in Europe and are continuing to work on Corepunk even while the studio is in “emergency mode.”

The studio followed up on the announcement a month later saying that they will soon be announcing the schedule for the long-delayed closed beta test. We’re now approaching the end of May with still no closed beta test in sight, although that’s perfectly understandable given their current situation. What we do know is that the studio has suspended support for the Russian region as of last week, including all communication channels, as the protracted war continues in their home country.

“For a long time now, we’ve put a lot of care and effort into our Russian-language communications. In return, we gained the participation and support of our community. A love of all things gaming united us. War. The damage and pain caused by war are profound. A majority of Artificial Core’s employees are Ukrainian, and we cannot ignore current events. We have decided to suspend support for the Russian region. On May 17, the Russian website, forum, and Discord channels will be disabled.”

Corepunk’s highly-awaited closed beta has already been delayed numerous times over the past two years and might be delayed even more due to the ongoing invasion. The team promised to report on development progress in early spring with plans to kick off beta testing in mid to late spring.
